Welcome to the CLEANAIR Website

Every year in the UK an estimated 9,300 babies and 12,400 adults die prematurely from passive smoking.

Biman Mullick, Honorary Director and Founder of CLEANAIR, states: "The basic need to breathe clean air is superior to the freedom to pollute air with tobacco smoke, which contains over 4,000 harmful chemicals, such as hydrogen cyanide, mercury, cadmium, benzopyrene, phenol, ammonia, nitrogen dioxide, radioactive polonium, butane, nicotine and carbon monoxide".

It is facts such as these that led to the setting-up of CLEANAIR in 1972, its' stated aim - to draw public attention to smoking and its' effects on health and the environment.
